After months of work and thanks to the great inspiration and amazing work of a team of truly amazing individuals, we are glad to announce the Air Raid of Lake Maggiore from 17-19 May with base at the marina of Luino, on the Lombardy side of the Lake.
The rally will touch some of the most touristic towns overlooking Lakes Maggiore.
Indeed, this is often regarded as the cribs of water aviation in Italy. Lake Varese was home of Macchi and the first base of the High Speed Group, established for the participation to the Schneider Cup. Sesto Calende was, instead, the seat of Savoia Marchetti, maker of several seaplanes, among which the famous S55, used for the Atlantic rallies during the early 1930s.
While the focus of the Raid is to spark attention to seaplanes and their potential for the Italian lake regions, the event will be open to all types of planes, following an order of priority.
